About the Author
An award-winning author, accomplished freelance writer, and blogger who came to Christ at age 14, she has always loved that God reveals Himself primarily through words. Her zeal for words led to a bachelor’s degree in English and sparked later training in journalism, biblical studies, and copywriting.
Ever a wordsmith, grammar geek, spelling aficionado, and proofreader extraordinaire, her husband dubs her the “punctilious grammarian.”
After writing a number of years for a regional newspaper and magazine, national and international figure skating magazines, and copy for small business websites, the Lord told her in 2012 “It’s time to use your talent for me.”
Immediately a project to edit a book for a pastor in Zambia fell in her lap. This honed her skills further, leading to the fulfillment in September 2014 of her long time goal of writing a book.
Pathway of Peace: Living in a Growing Relationship with Christ continues to bless individuals, church groups and book clubs, around the U.S. and abroad.
Active in Christian ministry since high school, Cheryl has gained much experience teaching, counseling, and sharing God’s truth with people of all ages and walks of life. She served as a home fellowship leader for 25 years, and spent several years on the mission field in a leadership role.
Through the years Cheryl also trained and worked as a volunteer for a 24-hour crisis hotline, and as a counselor for a local pregnancy center.
She’s currently the Administrative Assistant for Kingdom Faith Ministries International (KFMI), sharing in a variety of projects, including the writing and editing of ministry materials, and acting as webmaster for KFMI online. The ministry’s mission is teaching people to hear and obey the voice of the Lord—something Cheryl views of utmost importance for anyone desiring to carry out Christ’s work in the world.
Cheryl’s favorite place is on the ice, skating. A dedicated figure skater and small business entrepreneur, she also runs an online business for amateur ice dancers, and has written and produced instructional DVDs.
Off the ice she enjoys music, reading, playing the piano, bike riding, stage shows, caramel lattes, and spending time with her family.
